I only want the student to see the notes relevant to each week in Moodle

It is possible to release the module notes relevant to each section in your module. As a lecturer you will have the designer rights for that particular module so you will have the authority to hide materials and reveal them as you choose as follows.

Selecting the Hide option for a resource

When you have turned editing on you will see a drop down list called Edit appear beside each of your resources. When you expand this drop down list you can click on the Hide option to hide that particular resource from students until such time as you wish to make it visible again. When hidden, a resource will appear in a faded font rather than bright blue.

Hiding a Section from the Table of Contents

When you have turned editing on an icon that looks like an eye will appear in the righthand corner of each section. The open eye icon indicates that the section is visible to students. If you click on the eye once it will close. As demonstrated in the image below, the Quizzes section is visible to students (bright blue font and open eye) and the Forums section is closed (faded font and closed eye).

Hidden sections will also appear as crossed out sections in the Table of Contents when you have turned editing off and you are in your normal role. They will not appear to your students at all until you choose to reveal them again.
