Our Function within SETU The CTEL team facilitates the development of the eLearning environment and the associated knowledge and skills of SETU staff in seamlessly blending information and communication technologies into Teaching, Learning and Assessment activities to enhance the SETU digital learning experience. We offer a range of services including basic support, generic and specialized training workshops (both one-to-one and group orientated), consultancy and customized development.

Peter Windle

Peter Windle

Peter has a MEd in Teaching and Learning, and a BSc. in Information Technology from WIT. Over the two decades Peter has gained multifaceted experience from the fields of technology, education, and media. Specialising in the confluence of technology and education, Peter is committed to driving progress in teaching and learning practices across SETU.

Fiona Murphy

Fiona Murphy

Fiona graduated from WIT in 1995 with a BA in Languages & Marketing and has continued her professional development in the areas of International Business, Marketing, Administration and Blended Learning Technologies. She joined the administration at WIT in 1998 and has worked in a variety of departments across the institute through the years including Research and Development, Student Outreach, Registry, Careers, Education and Lifelong Learning. She joined the Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning in January 2012 providing support to staff and students using various types of learning technologies including Moodle, MS Teams and Zoom to name a few. Fiona also supports the delivery of the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning seminar series at SETU.

Conor O'Neill

Conor O'Neill

Conor graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology in 2000 with a BSc in Commercial Software Development and graduated from Dublin City University in 2005 with an MSc in Internet Systems and recently graduated from Cork Insitute of Technology with an MA in Elearning Design and Development. Conor currently works as an eLearning Technical officer in the Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning and has responsibility for staff and student technology-enhanced learning support, as well as the development of training material. Previous to SETU Conor worked as an SAP developer and Analyst / Programmer on many IT projects during his 22 years in Waterford Crystal.

Cathal O'Riordan

Cathal O'Riordan

Cathal is a graduate of WIT holding a BSc. in Commercial Software Development and an MSc. in Computing (Enterprise Software Systems). He joined TSSG in 2002 and worked on a variety of European Union and Enterprise Ireland funded projects during his time with the group. He joined the Centre for Technology Enhanced Learning in January 2009, assuming the role of eLearning Development Officer with responsibility for various projects to improve the Technology-Enhanced Learning infrastructure within SETU.

Laura McGibney

Laura McGibney

Laura joined WIT in 1993 and has worked in several different areas of Institute administration. She also has done some part-time lecturing by night. While working, she undertook part-time study and has a BSc (Hons) in Commercial Software Development from WIT. In 2014 she took a career break and worked as HR & Office Manager for a software company and completed an ILI diploma in life and business coaching. In January 2020, soon after her return to WIT, she took on the role of Online Engagement Advisor. She works with online programmes in the Institute primarily to look at ways to enhance the online experience for students and staff. Neill Wylie

Neill Wylie

Neill is a graduate of Maynooth University, University of Sunderland and the University of Nottingham and has been involved in online and blended learning at several universities in the Netherlands including Maastricht University and Delft University of Technology since 2013 before returning to Ireland and joining SETU as an Instructional Designer and Guest Lecturer in September 2021. Neill has published in the field of micro-credentials and learning design and has a keen interest in student engagement and harnessing educational technology to boost learning outcomes.
