If the discussion forum on your module is set to forced subscription you will receive notifications automatically. This setting is controlled by the lecturer. However, if the the discussion forum is set to auto subscription you may unsubscribe from the forum. Students can only post replies within discussion forums but they will not be able to start a topic in a News Forum.

Edit your Profile

There are several ways of managing your message subscription. Click on your username (top right) then click on “Edit Profile”

Change Forum Tracking

Scroll down the page and choose the option from the dropdown that says “No: don't keep track of post I have seen” tick that option

Change Auto Subscription

You can also change the forum auto subscription setting, just change the setting in the drop down to “No: don’t automatically subscribe me to forums”

Update and Finish

Dont forget to save your changes by clicking the "Update" button at the end of the screen
