How do I get my students to access Turnitin?

Your students can access Turnitin via the assignment area that you have set up for them in Moodle.  Students cannot get access to Turnitin if you did not set up any assignment for them in the module area in Moodle.

Adding a Turnitin assignment to your module

With editing turned on click on Add an activity or resource and select the Turnitin Assignment option that appears in the following drop down list and click Add.

Editing the Turnitin assignment settings

In the page that follows you can Name the assignment and provide instructions to students in the Summary window as displayed below. The default maximum file size is set to 20MB. The default setting for Number of Parts is 1 part but you can change this. If you decide to allow students to submit the assignment in parts you can adjust the due dates for each part so that they are spread out over the duration of the module.

Setting the dates

You can adjust the Start Date, Due Date and Post Date to suit your requirements for the assignment in question as shown below. Students cannot submit to the assignment area before the Start Date or after the Due Date. The results that you post will be made available to students after the Post Date.

Scroll to the end of the settings page and click on the Save and return to module button. Your Turnitin assignment is now ready for students to use.
