The Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL), first established in 2008, resides in the School of Lifelong Learning and Education. CTEL is committed to the ongoing development of a vibrant culture of Technology-Enhanced Learning in WIT.

SPEEDS - Social Policy Education: Enhancing Digital Skills

The aim of the SPEEDS project is to expand social policy educators’ digital capacities in teaching and learning contexts through partnership with instructional designers, e-Learning experts, and learning technologists in participating institutions. In the process, social policy educators will be transformed into ‘Digital Champions’, whose journeys will be documented throughout the process, providing a map for others who wish to follow in their footsteps.

Past Projects

Live and Learn in Ireland

The project seeks to address one of the key areas of the Forum’s first Enhancement Theme, Teaching for Transitions, while also being cognisant of another important aspect of the NFTL’s 2013-2015 work plan, building Digital Capacity. Transitioning International students into the higher education system in Ireland was as one of six key transitions identified by the NFTL that learners in higher education have to navigate.
