What is the procedure for setting up a Moodle based formal exam at SETU?

Many lecturers now use Moodle to run formal examinations at the end of each semester at SETU. Please follow this checklist to ensure that your Moodle based examination runs smoothly.

Inform CTEL

Please confirm the following details with a member of staff in the Centre for Technology-Enhanced Learning:

  • Date and time
  • Room number(s)
  • Module title
  • Exam format
  • Your contact details

Please email this information to moodle@setu.ie and a member of CTEL will contact you to offer assistance in advance of the exam and on the day.

Perform a dry run in class

Your students may be unfamiliar with the process of downloading and uploading files as part of an examination in Moodle so it is worth setting up a dry run in class for them. The CTEL team can offer advice and instruction on setting up the examination in Moodle if desirable. Please call in to our help desk in Room FTG29 on the Main Campus on any weekday between 9am and 5pm.

Technical Support

If you have a Moodle query or need technical support or advice, please send an email to moodle@setu.ie. We operate a helpdesk from Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you have a password issue, you will need to send an email to the computer services team at computerservices.wd@setu.ie.
