How do I add or edit an Assignment?

Lecturers can create an assignment activity in any of their module areas.  This will allow students in the group to submit a file or files for marking as part of their continuous assessment.  The students can be given feedback as well as grades for this assignment.  Lecturers can decide when this feedback is released when the set up the assignment.  Please follow the quick steps below to create an assignment.

Turn Editing On

Then in the chosen section in your module click on the Add an Activity or Resource option.

Create Assignment

Select the Assignment option and click on the Add button.

Assignment Settings

In the Settings screen that follows you can name the assignment, include instructions to students and set the submission dates.

Note: If you want to set the time to be midnight for the due date, so in this case midnight on the 17th of March, then please set the time to 23:59 because 00:00 is the start of the 17th of March in this example.

Submission Settings

In the same Settings screen you can also allow more than one file to be submitted.  The file size is automatically set to a 20MB upload limit. The grade is marked out of 100 automatically.

Note: Each Module has a 2GB limit in place for these type of assignments, just to note Turnitin type assignments has a 100BM which is substantially smaller than 2GB.
