If you have content in a module in Moodle that students are studying in the current academic year, the content will not be deleted from Moodle. Your content will remain in place in Moodle at the end of the academic year. You should hide or remove any content that you do not want students to see when they access the module area in Moodle.
Your content will remain in place on the modules that you were lecturing on last year. Your content will only be available in the current academic year in Moodle if you have imported this content across to the same module again. The Cenre for Technology-Enhanced Learning is not automatically informed if a lecturer is no longer teaching on a module.
You will need to import your content to the new module area. You must first request to be set up as a lecturer on the new module by emailing moodle@wit.ie with the CRN number for the new module. The CRN is a five digit number that uniquely identifies your module and is available from any of the support staff in your School office.
If you are lecturing on the same module again this year you can import last year’s content into the new version of the module for the new academic year.
Lecturers can import resources between the modules they are assigned to within Moodle. For example, if you are reusing case studies for a new academic year, these can be copied from a previous year’s module into the current one. It is important to note that to import between modules, you must be assigned as an editing lecturer on both modules.
Your module materials will remain in Moodle as long as you leave them in place for that academic year. Modules will appear blank again in the following academic year. It is the lecturer’s responsibility to import their content from one academic year to the next as required.
