All Aboard 2017 is an initiative being co-run by The National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Ireland’s higher education institutions. Running from April 3 2017, All Aboard 2017 is a week-long series of national and regional public events designed to build confidence in Ireland’s digital skills for learning.
Discuss the growing importance of social enterprise to the Irish economy. Debate the role of HEIs in the development, recognition and legitimacy of the social enterprise sector through curriculum development and other teaching and learning initiatives. Assess the scope for HEIs partnering with Social Enterprises on curriculum-related projects e.g., applied undergraduate and postgraduate project work, case studies of local and regional social enterprises etc. Explore how HEIs can build the capacity of people already working within the social enterprise sector.
This Thursday, September 19th, CTEL are hosting Sony for a demonstration of their new Active Learning technology solutions for classrooms and whiteboard text extraction tool for online/blended learning.
Featuring a review of the COP activities during the academic year as well as a “Show and TEL” from a number of WIT presentions at the recent ILTA (Irish Learning Technology Association) EdTech 2019 conference held in Dundalk IT.
There will also be a presentation and discussion on the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education - Professional Development Framework, together with a look at some of the professional development opportunities available within WIT such as the newly developed level 9 module - Content and Interaction for Teaching and Learning Online.
A collaborative, group-based activity will conclude the day which will involve the creation of a digital toolkit featuring a number of TEL tools that will help your teaching practice as well as practical guidance and considerations in the use of technology.

Featuring “Show and TEL” presentations from several of the WIT presenters at the recent ILTA (Irish Learning Technology Association) EdTech 2018 conference held in IT Carlow and a preview of the new features and functionality of Moodle 3.4 together with a roundtable discussion on the community of practice and a look at a number of TEL tools that will help your teaching practice.
