CTEL's advice for teaching at distance

Backup your Moodle content

Introduction

As the end of term closes in on us this is a good time of year to think about doing some housekeeping in Moodle. This is a very easy process and takes less than five minutes. Moodle provides the capabilities to backup and archive your course content and enables you to download the archived file to either your computer or an external hard drive.

Recommended Technology

  • Access to a Computer such as a PC or Mac.
  • External Hard Drive.

The Moodle helpdesk is located in the Center for Technology-Enhanced Learning (CTEL) on the WIT Main Campus. The help-desk team is available to assist students using Moodle and associated technologies (e.g Turnitin, Adobe Connect, etc) in person, on the telephone (051) 834114 and by email moodle@wit.ie from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
